Each and every house of Jakkampatti village will definitely have a hand loom machine even today.Middle aged woman of this place are involved in saree manufacturing or it’s related business and are purely dependent on this business for their living. Woman above 60 years of age are relying on this 100 year old heritage industry for their living;thus giving life to this valuable heritage product.
Eventhough sarees are manufactured in many places, Jakkampatti sarees have their own identity,uniqueness and fame. Perfection in design ,clean and neat look of the saree has added fame to them. These unique features of this saree has made it popular even in this modern time. Sarees are mostly manufactured as a result of co-operative efforts.
